Moving household possessions overseas is not like moving in the UK or even to Europe. It’s a completely different process involving export packing, container loading, shipping, export documentation, customs and the observance of local regulations and procedures at destination. But that’s all in a day’s work for us
As part of your Move Plan you will be advised if your effects will be shipped in their own container (and what size you will need), or as part of a shared load consignment. We understand that you will have concerns such as what you are and are not allowed to ship, custom clearance procedures, consignment tracking information and delivery times. As our trained team have many years experience in this field they will be able to assist you at every stage of your move, providing tailored advice on where you are going in the world.
Moving internationally from the Isle of Man usually means outside of mainland Europe and involves shipping in steel containers. Under normal circumstances we pack your belongings before and on the day of your move and record the contents. We would then place your consignment on one of our vehicles and bring it to the port or shipper in the UK, placing your consignment into a steel container where it will be checked and paper work signed by the shipper.
Your consignment would then be shipped to its destination where, following customs clearance, a local firm would be employed to deliver your furniture and belongings and unpack your breakables.
